The total length of main canal of Zhanghe is 18.05km, which is mainly responsible for irrigation of 1300 square meter farmland and municipal water supply of Jingmen city. The designed flow is 110 m3/s and increased water flow is 121 m3/s. In recent 20 years, due to supply water for three water supplying companies in Jingmen city, Zhanghe canal storages water for long years and the aquatic weed grows vigorously even up to 5m, which has seriously affected water flowing in the Zhanghe canal. The management department of Zhanghe canal adopted manual weed clening and dredging boat and fish-farming and other aquatic weed cleaning methods, but the effect is unsatisfactory.

The latter half year of 2015, our company specially designed an aquatic weed harvester based on the actual conditions of Zhanghe. The boat is equipped with 55kw Weichai Power engine with working endurance of 2km/h and sailing endurance of 5km/h. The designed aquatic weed harvesting capacity is up to 2000~3000 square meter. In the April of 2016, our aquatic weed harvesting equipment is put into trial operation in Zhanghe mian canal. Through testing, the effect of weed harvesting is good. After normally putting into using, our aquatic weed harvesting equipment is not only used to harvest aquatic weed in main canal of Zhanghe and also served for other four canals, which can effectively improve the water use efficiency of Zhanghe water.
