In 2001, water hyacinth is officially started to plant in the Dian Lake, Panlong River, Cuihu Lake and other waters. According to official notification, the planting area is up to 26 square kilometers. It is tested that 1ton of water hyacinth can absorb about 1.5 kilograms of nitrogen and 0.4 kilograms of phosphorus each year and it will not influence the normal growth of other aquatic organisms and can inhibit the growth of cyanobacteria when the planting area is no more than 50%. Therefore, it is an effective method to prevent exogenous pollutions and reduce endogenous pollutions of lake by planting water hyacinth in the riparian zone of open seas and Caohai of Dianchi Lake, which is significant for the improvement of water of Dian Lake.

With the mass propagation of water hyacinth, the harvesting of water hyacinth is a main problem to be solved otherwise it will lead to greater pollution when the growth of water hyacinth is out of control. In 2014, Relevant departments of Kunming city has cooperated with our company and purchased several water hyacinth harvesting boats, which are mainly applied to professional harvesting of water hyacinth in Dian Lake. The boat can collect water hyacinth and crush them and the offscum of water hyacinth is conveyed by conveyor belt. Besides, the conveyor belt is divided into two parts and can adjust flexible based on the quantity of water hyacinth offscum to ensure maximum storage of single time. Finally, collecting and crushing water hyacinth is transported to shore by special boat, which can be utilized by deep processing after drying and dehydration treatment.
